Welcome to MY Strings!

This is a drop-in weekly jam session from 1 to 3 every Sunday, playing old-time, Metis, bluegrass and other styles of music.  There is no charge or fees, and no sign-up commitment.  Instead, MY Strings is an encouraging fun place for young string musicians to have fun while playing music together.

A jam session is where each player takes a turn calling their tune of choice, and everyone joins in to play.  These jams are not a replacement for your local teacher or private lessons, but can be a great alternative to a day's practice!

We hope to see you there!

More About Us

Manitoba Youth Strings is organized by a volunteer board consisting of parents, community leaders, and youth members in Winnipeg.

We are currently renting space for jam sessions at Masonic Memorial Centre (MMC), 420 Corydon Avenue in Winnipeg.  We are not affiliated with the Freemasons in Manitoba, but the MMC is supportive through very reasonable rent.  The building is accessible for all people and has ample free parking.
